Independent Lessons with Instructor

30 Minutes; Max 4 Students 

Select Level:

BR1: Big Reds 1

Introductory beginners. No previous water experience is required. 

  • Children will learn in a BR1:

    • Back float light touch

    • Front float light touch

    • Submerge entire self underwater

    • Polar Bear crawl with flotation 5-10 feet

    • Push off side to instructor

    • Water safety skills 

 
BR1b: Big Reds 1b

Prior to enrollment: Swim 5-10 feet on stomach with flotation device and kick on back 5-10 feet with flotation device

  • Children will learn in a BR1b:

    • ​Back float 10 seconds

    • Front Float 5 seconds

    • Kick on back 25 feet

    • Kick on stomach with rhythmic breathing 10 feet (side breathing)

    • Swim on stomach 15 feet (introduction to water recovery)

    • Backstroke 15 feet

    • Retrieve object from bottom of the pool

 
BR2: Big Reds 2

Prior to enrollment: Swim 15 feet on stomach and swim 5-10 feet on back

 

  • Transition Level

  • Children will learn in a BR2:

    • Kick on back 25 feet

    • Kick on stomach with rhythmic breathing 25 feet

    • Front crawl 25 feet with small barbell

    • Backstroke 25 feet

    • Submerge and retrieve object from bottom of the pool 

 
BR2b: Big Reds 2b

Prior to enrollment: Swim 25 feet on stomach and 25 feet on back

 

  • Children will learn in a BR2b:

    • Kick on back 37.5 feet

    • Kick on stomach with rhythmic breathing 37.5 feet

    • Front Crawl 37.5 feet

    • Backstroke 37.5 feet

    • Breaststroke kick 25 feet

    • Swim 15 feet and submerge underwater to retrieve object

    • Treading Water

 
 
BR3: Big Reds 3

Prior to enrollment: Swim 37.5 feet on stomach and 37.5 on back.

 

  • Children will learn in a BR3:

    • ​Kick on back 75 feet

    • Kick on stomach with rhythmic breathing 75 feet

    • Backstroke 75 feet

    • Front Crawl 75 feet

    • Breaststroke kick 25 feet

    • Breaststroke arms 25 feet

    • Treading Water 

JrST: Jr. Splash Team

Prior to enrollment: Swim 75 feet on stomach and 75 feet on back. Must have a basic understanding of breaststroke arms and kicks

 

  • Children will learn in a JrST:

    • ​Backstroke 120 feet

    • Front Crawl 150 feet

    • Breaststroke kick 37.5 feet

    • Breaststroke arms 37.5 feet

    • Breaststroke 25 feet

    • Dolphin Kick 37.5 feet

    • Treading Water
